Romania - Jenn & Raz Iacob
Almost half of Romanians are at risk of poverty or social exclusion and the majority of the Roma population in Romania is caught in this cycle. The Jenn and Raz Iacob provide mentoring & counselling to at-risk mothers, school readiness programs, early education for at-risk children, medical and humanitarian aid, abuse and human trafficking prevention programs -- but at the core of everything they do is sharing about the hope of God and the power of His love.
The Iacobs aim to help the most needy children in Romania - abandoned children and Roma children. They are working hard to rescue abandoned babies from living in institutions and placing them in loving forever families. Until this special family is found, the Iacob family takes the infants into their own home, ensuring that they are well cared for and not suffering from the effects of neglect they would experience in the state institutions. They are also working in a downtown slum that is home to a number of families that are squatting in abandoned storefronts and garages. The majority of the families are from the Roma (Gypsy) population. Click here for more info.

Mexico - Come to the Waters
Come to the Waters Ministries works primarily in the impoverished neighbourhoods surrounding the city of Acapulco, Mexico. The ministry has been reaching out to families by building churches, shelters, giving food/water and medical care to those who do not have the means or resources.
The ministry began 20 years ago, when Pastor Armida Schulha (founder & president) left her successful position in the banking industry in Canada to be a missionary to her native country of Mexico. The ministry has since started 6 churches in the Acapulco area and gives covering to other churches in Mexico.
NLI Canada’s role in Europe is to work hand-in-hand with local leaders and their networks of churches to increase their capacity for ministry, augment their knowledge and expertise, and expand their impact through the launching and development of life-giving communities of faith. Our service to these leaders and their organizations is strengthened by the partnerships we foster with those in Canada who are passionate about Missions in Europe. Current NLI missions projects are in Italy and Serbia.
